I suppose it's their chance to compare how they are doing in relation to others.How do you really know? Well, you could look at the taxable income line from your prior year's return and look to see what bracket you are in from resources tab of my website. See which category you fit into and voila.
There are ways of planning in order to defer taxable events so don't put too much stock into what bracket you are in. Remember, the object is to pay the least amount of tax required by law.
