One is the perfect time to do anything in your career will never be.  Right now is supposedly a tough time to find a job.  Yet new grad's must start because student loans need to be repaid and their careers need to take off.  Why not wait for the perfect time to look for a job?  Because a new class of grad's are just one year behind them so waiting will just increase the pool of competition.  For those contemplating self employment,  you need to just get started because you only have a finite number of productive years in your body.

 

Two is the need to network.  No man or woman is an island.  If you want a job or a new client then you need to network.  If everyone else is doing it then you would be at a disadvantage by not networking.

 

Three is to constantly improve yourself.  Whether to reach your next promotion or to acquire your next client, you need to expand your skills and knowledge in the workplace to potential employers and/or customers.

 

Four is to give back to your community.  I believe karma works.  If you cannot give then you will not be open to receive.
