Recent Posts:Advertising is not a luxury but a necessityDid you ever go to a store and it was fantastic? The only thing wrong was the lack of customers. Why, perhaps it was the lack of advertising.Certainly you could build word of mouth advertising but if you're a small business, you may run out of money before the word gets out on how great your place is. You need to promote (i.e. advertise) your business in multiple ways.
I was contacted by a really good rep for a telephone book. I currently have only line ads but the gentleman was just doing his job trying to get a yes or no out of me for a larger print presence. He was very effective at keeping me on the phone (especially since he called me out of the blue).
Is print advertising in phone books a dying enterprise? I don't know but I do know it's been at least half a year since I looked anything up in the phone book (other than pizza coupons in the back section). I suppose it's still a viable choice otherwise business owners wouldn't keep paying to place ads in them.
When would I use a phone book? Gosh, I don't know but with the increase of internet usage, I do most of my searches not in the phone book but on my computer.
How about you?
