Recent Posts:Is working for someone else a nightmare?Last night I had a nightmare. As you regular readers know, years ago I worked in corporate America. I dreamt I was called to explain some numbers I compiled for an internal report. In the dream, I knew the report was a couple of years old and that it was prepared quickly because you're always getting last minute requests that are needed right away. The manager (based in another city) had to report to the executive committee how my numbers told a story and he needed me to explain it to him before the meeting.
That's how it is in corporate America. Instead of learning themselves, higher level management wants to be "brought up to speed" rather than taking the time to do their own research for understanding.
So, someone else takes credit for your good work and they enjoy the glory. Mistakes? Well, that's another story. Those are all yours and are not shared by those who have taken credit for someone else's hard work in the past.
I love self employment. I'm not against being an employee but there is so much upside if you can get to the point of establishing a stable business.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
