Recent Posts:Why having a budget is importantBudgets. I've done bunches of them. For multi million dollar businesses and multi billion dollar businesses. Like the swallows back to Capistrano, there is a time of year to begin the process. Why do we have budgets? In my business, I thought I could keep all of that stuff in my head. Silly but true (at least in the past). I created a budget and actually put it all down on paper. I didn't think it would make much difference. Boy, was I wrong.
Initially, I figured the written budget would help me control my costs better. That may be true but the real difference was to keep me focused on hitting my sales goals. Somehow, I never expected that.
When you have your budgeted sales figures staring you in the face each month, you are more motivated to reach and achieve those numbers. Fall behind? Time to make more sales calls and build your networking organization. Ahead of sales budgets? Happy but keep focused to make sure you hit the end of the year succeeding according to where you planned to be thanks to your budget plan.
