  • Set hard to attain goals

Back when I was still in corporate America, I would not understand why annual sales goals were set so high.  If bonuses are tied to the near impossible, I reasoned it would be a Quixotic experience.  Chasing a goal which you are likely to fall short of even with a valiant effort.  Miss it and nada, no bonus.  What's the point for the employee?

Now as an owner, I understand the logic.  The emphasis is on the overall good of increasing market share, keeping staff employed and remaining a viable enterprise.  The short term sales bonuses was only a tool to help.

It takes looking at it from the other side of the fence to really begin to understand the logic.

I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more.  We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
