    • Waiting for the government to help you? Help yourself!

    How about a show of hands to this question.  How many of you have purchased a lottery ticket as a way of solving all your financial problems?  I'll bet for Americans that percentage would be a majority.  I'll be upfront and say I've purchased a ticket too hoping for sudden wealth.
     
    We all would like a quick fix to our money woes.  Maybe the government will help?  Well, I wouldn't count on it.  Our government has so many programs they need to fund.  Instead, how about taking a page from small business and start something for yourself.  The excitement of running your own business is better than any game I've ever played and I get to spend real money as I earn it (unlike monopoly).
     
    Sure, starting a business is a little scary but it's been done before and will be again.  Just think about it, you only have so much time to live.
