I look for the multiple yield on things.  It's been probably about a month since I began commuting to work via bicycle.  My primary reason was for my health as I haven't been exercising as often as I should.  I won't lie as another reason was vanity about improving my physical appearance (a work in progress).  A third reason was the potential to save on fuel costs (Accountants love to save).

Well, it's been about a month and a couple of things have happened.  First, I've saved two tankfuls of fuel (an $80.00) savings so far, I've dropped a couple of pounds (not as much as I'd hoped) and I feel better conditioned to make the daily commutes over approximately 7 miles from my home to my office.

If all continues to track according to history then my life changes should save me in $$$ about a $1000 per year in fuel costs and who knows the effect on my prescription medicine.  There is so much to look forward to.
