How to find the right CPA firm for you

The services which CPA firms offer is not revolutionary so how do you decide on the right CPA firm for you?  Well, some clients want a firm that's located near their office while for others, the location is not critical.  If a firm utilizes a courier service then location shouldn't really be a factor.  The size of the firm should be a consideration.  Is your prospective new firm a one person operation with no time to add yet another firm?  Perhaps you are considering the largest firm in town.  That might or might not be a good idea depending on the size of clients which they serve.  After all, if they serve large business clients then a Mom and Pop could find themselves at the bottom of the work list simply because the revenue is greater on the larger accounts.  A really big factor is do you feel comfortable with the CPA firm's people.  After all, it's the people who will be performing the service for you and a proper fit of personalities is crucial.
