Recent Posts:Prepare for successIt's been awhile since I've been on a College campus for any type of business matter. Many, many years ago I was just another student looking for a job offer. Last night, I was invited to a meet and greet at my old campus. I thought it was a function where students ask practicing accountants what's it like to be in the Accounting field. I was mistaken. I showed up in a guyabera and slacks (hey, it's hot in San Antonio). The other employers were in more traditional business garb. The meet and greet was in fact a job fair. Yes, I felt underdressed. Still, the students were dressed for success and much more polished than I had been in my time as a student. Though technical expertise is one of the baselines which you need for a job in the workforce, the social skills are just as valuable and oftentimes are the difference in a job offer and being out of luck. This current generation of students who I had the pleasure of meeting last night is in my opinion, definitely prepared for success. I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs. Richard J. Garcia | 09/23/2011
