Marking the important points in life

This weekend will be marked with events to commemorate my High School class.  It's been decades (more than one o.k.) since I walked the stage to transition from free education to work or more school for college and then work.

I thought quite a bit about whether I should attend the various scheduled events this weekend.  Slowly I've been packing on the pounds again and though I shouldn't be concerned with how I look should I meet my old classmates, I am.

I did not attend my school's homecoming football game which was yesterday.  Just as well since they were badly drubbed by our arch rival.  The dinner and dancing is tonight but I don't plan on attending.  My wife and I will make Sunday's event to tour the school and have lunch instead.

I had considered not attending any of the events but life is much too short.  It's important to mark the important points in life whether you're ready for them or not.
