ALL large businesses have a plan. Do you?

I love small business.  The nimbleness to change direction without going through committee after committee which big organizations frequently endure thanks to the multiple layers of management.  Still, there are many things that small business should take from how large organizations operate.  Like a strategic plan.

You need a strategic plan.  Your customers/clients appreciate a business with a plan.  Don't believe me?  O.K., what if you had a store front office and were providing engineering services.  The following week you sell hamburgers out of the same office instead of engineering services.  The third week you sell vintage clothing.  It's a silly scenario to be sure but your plan helps you to have a consistent direction for the type of business you have.

You add products/services which complement the core business you offer but avoid ones which do not.

Reevaluate your business each year and implement a plan which will strengthen your business and position it for growth for years to come.
