Dealing with the IRS

Maybe it's a random audit,  Perhaps there is an error or omission on your return.  It could be you've been audited in the past.  Still, you might be outright attempting to defraud the government out of your fair share of tax liability.  Whatever the circumstance is, receiving a notice from the IRS is typically frightening to the average U.S. taxpayer.
