Creating creature comforts of home in the office

The stereotype of the Accountant working long hours is true. Tax time and its deadlines mean things need to happen along with the normal responsibilities of providing bookkeeping, payroll and other support to clients.  Early in my career I would buy a lot of takeout as I worked long hours.  I still work long hours but now I create comforts in the office whenever possible.

I'm at the office and it's near noon on Sunday morning right now.  In the office patio I've got a George Foreman Roaster doing its thing on a small whole chicken I bought on the way into work.  I could certainly have stopped to pick up a 99 cent heart attack at a fast food restaurant but I prefer the taste of a home cooked meal.  A few minutes of prep time and in about an hour and a half I will have a tasty seasoned meal which should provide lunch for tomorrow as well.

It just takes a little advance planning to make working in an office a little more enjoyable.
