Recent Posts:Staying in businessOne of the biggest worry for small business owners is staying in business. Even for an established business like mine, the thought remains. Will the phone ring tomorrow? What unforeseen cash flow demand will present itself? How do I remain at or near the cutting edge of technology to remain competitive? I have always loved being a business owner because there is no ceiling to how much money one can make. Of course there is no floor to how little you can make either. It takes a hardy soul with a lot of courage to operate a business long term. You have to have a little gamble in you if you want to be self employed. Too cautious and you don't grow. Too ambitious and you can be on the wrong side of a risky business decision and have to close your doors. I've had lots of people tell me "it must be nice to be your own boss." The thing is those same people only see one side to being self employed. The other is the nagging worry about being able to remain self employed. It's still exciting and fun to operate a business. It's also scary at times too. The thing is, running a business is really like working on commission. You get paid only on the work you complete.
