How to succeed in self employment

Over the weekend I was telling the story of how I began my own firm to my youngest.  Though I had plenty of experience before the launch, the one ingredient I lacked until I began was confidence.

When is it time to start your own business?  Well, if you have acquired the right tools, experience and some amount of working capital then the right time to start is when the frustration of working one more day for someone else is greater than the fear of failure working for yourself.

How to succeed in self employment?  Have goals, make sure you have the infrastructure to do the work and make sure to promote your business in some way every day.  Every day?  Yep.
