Comparing yourself to others isn't necessarily a bad thing
I was reading on Fortune magazine on some of the different lists (40 under 40, highest paid, etc...). You might imagine I might feel either depressed or inadequate since those people have been what you might say is wildly successful. I'm not. Instead, I am reinvigorated to set my personal and professional goals even higher.
It can be a good thing to see where your business is positioned in your industry. You might even want to do a list of your own to rank those major players.
Once the list is comprised then take an honest assessment of what they do. If you don't offer their total package then perhaps you could make a plan to increase your offerings to compete better in the marketplace.
You want your business to be at the cutting edge of your industry and not the back of the pack. To remain there requires continual preparation to put your business at or even near the front of the pack and receive a larger market share share of customers.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and serve the needs of individuals and small business in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
