Don't be afraid to be successfully self employedIf you've been reading my blogs for awhile then you know I'm constantly encouraging you to start your own business.
It took years for me to develop the courage to start my own business. I was so scared of what might go wrong. For me, I was lucky. My wife had been nudging me for quite some time to go out on my own. The problem was me. I was the nervous nelly. "What if it's not successful and I fail?" So many nagging thoughts because I thought working for someone else meant job security. Well, working for someone else doesn't guarantee you much these days. In the past, you could work an entire career for one employer. Now, it's no longer true even in the best companies.
I remember when I started my own firm, it felt like I jumped off the edge of a cliff. I knew there would be no safety net to catch me and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Inside myself, I knew I had to make it because I had a family to support.
Now, I am afraid for people who work for companies. I would like to see more people start their own businesses and experience the satisfaction of self employment. You can become the person you always wanted to be just by planning for your own business and seeing it through. I'll be glad to provide you with a free initial consultation to get you further down that road.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and serve individuals and small businesses in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
