Which path to pursue?Over the years, I've received numerous calls from outsourcing operations based in other countries outside of the United States. The offer is always the same. Send work over to them and save substantially over what you would pay someone to do the same function here in the United States.
I like saving money like the next guy. Big corporations don't seem to have a problem doing it. The issue for me is how does the money I pay overseas get spent back in my local community? The local baker, convenience store operator, restauranteur, department store all need to feed their families. If more local owners outsource overseas then then how do the local unemployed obtain jobs to feed their families?
The water rises locally for all. The offer for outsourcing is tempting but my community needs the money to be spent here.
Like tossing a pebble into a lake, the ripples will expand to reach much further than the point of impact.
