How to save money on groceriesI'm sure each generation felt times were a lot harder than the one before. Certainly I feel that way about mine but I still take steps to make things easier by planning.
Years ago, I bought a book on how to save money. I've since forgotten the book's name but not the lessons. One in particular has continued to provide dividends.
Is this you? You shop for groceries once a week but still go back to the store two or three additional times? Perhaps you also have two or three of the same condiment in your pantry (ketchup, mustard, etc...) because you failed to take inventory of what you needed before you left for the groceries.
I make a week's worth of meals out on the right side of a clean sheet of paper. On the left, all the things we need to make the meals and the other essentials to keep the house hold running smoothly.
I save money with this list method. We spend double the money when we shop without one.
Saving money on groceries is that simple. For those of you who lack freezer space so you can buy in bulk, purchase a freezer and you'll quickly make up the cost over time. Like I mentioned, it's worked for me.
