Why December is an important Month for business ownersFor many, December is the month of anticipation for marking religious events, shopping and/or vacation. For me and many business owners, it's the time for making purchases which will change the bottom line of many financials.
Do I buy new equipment? Do I need new equipment. What about supplies, software and such. January just won't cut it because the effects of the purchases can directly impact your tax situation with the days remaining in the year.
I know that once December is over, the tax season will begin. Even though I love preparing tax returns, January's deadlines will be formidable. Lot's of various tax deadlines will be due and the phone calls will increase for preparing returns.
In the meantime, I've tried for more exercise via walking during the day. Like a boxer training for a fight, I need to prepare my body for the long hours. Walking during lunch has begun to reveal its benefits. I feel a bit more relaxed and there is a bit more room in the waist of my slacks. Like the old adage, keep it simple. Life's complicated enough.
