The hardest decision in starting a business
From your first year of school to the last, there is a system to educate you. The basics then electives and before you know it, your done. Then what?
The hardest decision to starting a business is choosing what type of business you want and then be realistic about implementing your plan to getting it off the ground. What do I mean? Well, let's say you plan on taking on a goliath like Microsoft, Coca Cola, McDonalds or another giant organization. It's not realistic to believe you can compete with them on an even footing. One reason why is their size provides price breaks the mom and pop business can't receive in buying.
So, you've worked a number of years for others and want to strike out on your own. Perhaps the business you start out with have will not resemble the business you have in 5 to 10 years out. Why? Well, you've got to grow in steps to make sure you have the infrastructure to support the growth and the cash flow to get you there.
Luckily for me, I enjoy what I do so I wanted to perform the same type of work as I performed in Corporate America but now I do it for me. Am I happy? Even with all the difficulties of running a business the answer is an emphatic yes!
I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We provide a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
