Be your own cheerleader for your business"Are you sure you want to open a business? What if you fail?" Those were the words of my Mother (Love you Mom) when I announced I was going to start my own business. Opening a business is a scary proposition. You know the odds of failure but something inside is eating at you to take the chance anyway.
A new business takes guts and means being the cheerleader who pumps up your belief in what you are launching and what it might become. Well meaning family and friends will share with you the dangers but only time and success will prove to them that your path was the right one.
I like to tell people that starting a business is really the safe play. I could lose my job (i.e. a customer) ten times and still be able to eat. People who work for an employer cannot afford to lose their one job without suffering possible personal financial ruin.
Todays stories have teachers being let go for budget shortfalls, companies laying off people or shipping their jobs overseas. Politicians lament on how we need business to step up and hire workers.
If you have the courage to start your own business then perhaps one day you may be able to hire workers and do your part in keeping America great.
