Life is like a roller coasterYesterday, my youngest and I went to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. I hadn't been to an amusement park in nearly twenty years. The first thing I wanted to do was get on the most frightening ride I could imagine to "break the ice." The park had shut it down (The Rattler) for nearly thirty minutes. My daughter and I were the first to ride it when they turned it back on.
The roller coaster experience for my daughter was wonderful though I found it frightening. That's kind of like how life is (everybody experiences the same thing differently). Having a business definitely feels like a roller coaster in that you really don't know what's coming next and there will be highs and lows and times when you feel like you're going to be thrown off by the pace.
My daughter wondered why I was so frightened (she could see it in my body language) and yes, I prayed the entire ride and kept my eyes closed. I told her she thinks she's immune to harm and I know I'm not. The thing was that I'm still willing to face scary things even when I'm afraid.
We had a memorable Father and Daughter day and I feel certain that she and I were able to bond even closer through the shared experience. I look forward to taking her again and yes, I'm expecting to be afraid again.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
