Finding joy in what you do for a livingHaving worked for others for a considerable amount of time, something inside me pushed to do something as an entrepreneur.
My wife shared with me recently how it was hard to work by herself (she is an employee somewhere and let's leave it at that). Her comment to me brought back a flood of memories of when I started my firm. Yes, working by yourself can be hard. That's why you need to create your own structure to do things including but not limited to work hours, what you do at certain hours of the day and more. I dreaded calls from family during the early years to go home and bring something to kids at school or a quick errand for my wife because it's so hard to keep yourself on track when you are the one who sets your agenda for the day. Once you get out of your normal way of doing things it's harder to get back to productive work.
Within the structure of doing work, I like to have little things to look forward to in the day or at the end of the week. In that way, I am able to set up little rewards for myself (perhaps eating lunch at a restaurant, going to a video arcade, etc...) which made me happy.
I love what I do for a living. One of the joys is meeting new people and getting the opportunity to work on something different each day. Right now, I'm waiting for the next phone call and a chance to meet someone new to help them.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
