    There comes a time in the world of self employment when the business you started has grown to the level of replacing the wages you earned as a former employee somewhere.  Though satisfying, the situation is no less critical than when you worked for a company.  Why?  If you are an employee or if you are self employed, your ability to earn money to provide for your family is totally dependent on you doing all the work to get paid.  If you work your business by hiring employees, you have the opportunity to continue earning a living even if you're sick and can't work or take vacations.  You leverage the work of others to generate income for yourself.
     
    Yes, hiring employees is scary with cash flow fears being a major factor but it also gives more in opportunities for potential company sales growth and the continuation of the business should you decide to one day transition ownership to the next generation of family.
