Technology and self employment must work together
Over the weekend, my cellular phone died. I tried everything to fix it (at least the most logical things) but it was dead in spite of my best efforts. My phone still managed to mock me as calls could come in but I couldn't answer them.
It was a Blackberry phone. Being distrustful of integrated technology, I had only recently embraced the idea of using the phone's calendar to enter my appointments. I feel more fortunate than most since I have a client with a cellular phone store. In spite of his best efforts, my future appointments are gone and beyond my reach. I have no clue who or when I will be meeting with anyone from now to the end of the year.
In retrospect, I probably had some computer application to sync my phone with my computer. Oh well, lesson learned. Will I lose clients as a result? I suppose if I have appointments scheduled where I need to be at their office then yes. Still, most people will be understanding as misfortune drizzles upon us all at one time or another.
I still love technology just as much as I love self employment. The constant is to keep both working together.
