Positioning yourself for success
Over the weekend I was at my office while some repairs were taking place. It was the only time I could have where my business wouldn't be affected by the sound of hammering and sawing.
While I was getting some fresh air I had the opportunity to strike up a conversation with one of my neighbors and we compared stories about our location and its effect on our respective businesses. The streets around us are high traffic ones and walk up business for both are better than average. It's a numbers game in that respect as we might have as many as 30 cars drive by per minute during the day.
The building which I'm occupying for my business has had many businesses before mine. The problem for those before me is the amount of parking (3 spots). For a retail business, it's just not enough. For a service business, perfect.
Every chance we get, we are improving the office infrastructure and appearance. Over the weekend we had some repairs done to improve the aesthetics for the customer. The week before we had some electrical repairs to stop some breakers from tripping due to the heavy draw of electricity to warm the building.
Do what you can to position your business for success. Improve your odds when possible with location, appearance and infrastructure to grow.
