  • How important is customer service in business?

    I took my family yesterday to an upscale restaurant.  Mind you it's not one on our regular rotation.  The building is beautiful as was the art on the walls.  So, why am I writing about it?  Poor customer service.

    It's the little things which can ruin all the hard work you've put into a business like poor customer service.  In my recent restaurant dining experience it was no knife to spread the butter on the complimentary bread (which was delicious), treating your customers unevenly (receiving paper cocktail napkins instead of cloth ones all the other tables received), not following directions on water glasses.  I must admit that I did enjoy the food I ordered.

    Like I said, customer service may act as a great ally for building customer count or drive them away.  It's so easy for either to become reality.
