Planning for the unexpected in business
Yesterday evening, there was a gully washer of a thunderstorm in my city. Power for a two block radius was lost and my computer system suddenly went off. Years of working in corporate America has taught me good lessons. One is to save my work frequently on the computer. Another is to plan for catastrophic loss. We have been working to safeguard our most valuable business asset which is data.
Our computer guru mentioned that loss of data is a death knell to businesses. It's a risk I don't want to gamble on since the downside is too great. Thank goodness the office power came back on and I was able to continue with what I had to work on. People insure their homes and they should also take steps to insure the recovery of data with a bit of capital investment.
I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more. We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
