Blind luck, the lottery and a plan for business success
I was chatting over breakfast yesterday with a good friend and bicycling buddy. He had bought a ticket for the lottery (he didn't win). We were discussing what he'd do with his windfall. It was pretty humble stuff and perhaps if he was the winner in the drawing then he'd probably have been able to have it last through his lifetime (unlike a lot of previous lottery winners who blow through it in less than 10 years).
I shared with him that I wasn't going to be buying a ticket since the money would come with too many problems along with it. After all, how do you go from a simple life to one of excess? No, I told him I am happy with my life right now.
Planning for business success lets you prepare better for its arrival. Blind luck with sudden riches can leave just as easily as it found you.
