  • What to do when you face an Audit

So you've received a notice of audit and perhaps even a phone call from an IRS professional.  What should you do?  Well, I think you have to assess if you feel comfortable handling the matter yourself.  Are all your documents in order?  Do you feel comfortable interacting with the agent and do you have the time to sit with IRS on possibly multiple visits?

Do I believe someone can adequately represent themselves?  Yes, if they are prepared.

When should you use an experienced tax professional to represent you?  When you answered no to one or more of the questions I presented to you above.

I am a CPA in San Antonio and provide bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and more.  We offer a free initial visit and look forward to serving your business needs.
